I bet most of you have never heard Famine 30 before and have zero idea on what it is basically all about.
From the word "famine" which means shortage of food resulting in hunger and death, I presumed that you can guess it right already. Yep. This is a program co-organised by World Vision and others mainly to increase the awareness of global hunger crisis among babies, young teens, youth, uncle, aunty, ahpek, dogs, cats, and you name the rest. Furthermore, it is a global movement against hunger and poverty where participants will stay empty stomach for 30 hours and those money collected from us will be sponsored to help those unfortunate children and communities living in poverty.
If im not mistaken there are hundreds of campsite throughout Peninsular Malaysia and I joined UM's campsite. All the activities held are depend on your camp leader throughout the 26 hours while the last 4 hours all of us, the campers from every camps are supposed to gather together at Stadium Malawati, Shah Alam ( for the year of 2012 ) and countdown together with selected local artist and of course this years' ambassador,
Wang Lee Hom !
So what happened on that 2 days?
My friend and I, and her friends went down KL earlier a day before the actual day. We didnt register this camp together and I thought I will be going down KL alone already but luckily there are friends to accompany me along. They attended the Kelana Jaya campsite so basically I need to set on my #foreveralone mode again when I entered my camp.
This is us during the night at her sis's place. Me, Yinlan, Zhi Liang and Mei Chie. :)
I asked my coursemate to fetch me from Yinlan's sis's place the next morning and the first thing that came out from all of our mind is obviously to eat all you can while you can !!! We had dim sum that morning and rushed ourselves back to UM for registration before 10am.
Taken from the place where my bags/ luggage sleeps. wtf. Thats our Kompleks Perdana Siswa anyway. ( I hope im not wrong with the places' name )

There were a few activities and games throughout that day. And the activities conducted are mainly related to the theme, for instance they put you in the situation of poverty. You got no money, nothing to harvest maybe you got a cow or a chicken or something, then someone stole it from you or snatch away or con away your hard earned money or worse, disaster happen. Flood, drought or anything happen then your plant / family members die or something. wtf i know. I sounded so fantasy here but something like that lah. Its quite fun actually and also pissed sometimes due to the natural disaster that happened that destroyed all our crops but we cannot change or control anything.
It might be a game for us but that's probably what they are undergoing everyday. Even a bowl of corn / water could be their major problem every single day. And whats our problem? Too many choices of clothes in wardrobe and dont know what to wear to class later? wtf.
They kind of make me understand the feeling of starvation, the only better thing compared to them is we are allowed to drink only plain water. And so call it a day with empty stomach.
The next morning, we are called to be awake at 5am plus, after some aerobics, here we go, - Stadium Malawati, Shah Alam. I bet thats what most of us eager the most. :P
We reached the Stadium before 8am itself and started to wait patiently at outside until maybe i say 10am?
If you ever missed my face, here it is. wtf. Standing beyond everyone. LOLOLOL. To be honest when i first look at this what came up my mind was, " I've been in hunger for more than a day already and why do i look even fatter and rounder? " wtf. Fulled with water, thats called shui chong. #excuses.
And if you're wondering how many participants in total this year.. I can tell you!
Yes, 27 000 participants this year itself. And collected a fund of XXXXXX.

It is a 4 sided face stadium and just imagine this crowd. At every little 4 corners!! Psssttt, there are still some of them watching outside the stadium! Pity those campers, due to shortage of space and all... :( You guys are so awesome!
There quite a number of local artists available that day, Deborah Henry, Daniel Lee, Yise, Phoebe, Wai Fun, Royce, Mei Yan, Gary and the lists go on... Oh wait. Did i mentioned Leehom? XD
Since I used to be Daniel Lee's hardcore fan I shall post a picture of him here. lol. He's still as cute as he was during the Malaysian Idol days.

Feeling kinda pity him, he looked so exhausted that day. After countdown with us for the last few minutes he gota rush back to work. Definitely he needs some rest, leehom!!

And the first meal after 30 hours. First time feeling so satisfied with just a bread which I never once appreciate it. wtf. Soo soo goood. Seriously !!! Now thinking back of it, I want to taste back those bread + soya milk!
There you go. My extreme tired + nearly died + also damn excited after watching Leehom + out of angle + chubby face, with urm soya.

Year 2012 is such an awesome year so far minus all those unwanted things that happened. So, why awesome? Mainly because I get to meet Leehom twice in this year itself!! Im looking forward for more opportunities to meet him. xoxo.
